Privacy policy

The short version
Your data belongs to you. We collect what ResetHive needs to run, we do not sell or rent your data, and you can export or delete your account data from your account page.
What we collect
- Login email: used for magic-link sign-in and account support. It is not shown publicly or used as your community identity.
- Private recovery data: counter dates and history, optional daily reflections, mood, setbacks and full craving logs. These are encrypted end to end, together with reading history, favorites and private preferences.
- Operational data: the recoveries you join, account activity, onboarding completion and broad counts of feature use. We retain these to operate the app, without private text, detailed recovery dates or the articles you read.
- Community posts, replies and images: content you choose to share with the community. These posts and replies use your community identity, not your login email. Approved images and their links can be shared outside the Hive. Images use provider-managed encryption, not your private recovery keys.
- Hive search: members can search posts, replies, and current usernames in their current recovery, in threads created within the past six months. Browsing shows the past 30 days. Saved search data is encrypted, and searches are processed on our server.
- Profile info: username, country, language, and notification preferences chosen by you. Previously saved gender information is preserved; we no longer ask for it.
Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, retargeting, ad networks or third-party analytics cookies. There are no ads on ResetHive. We keep our own broad usage counts and operational logs, such as sign-ins, feature use and errors, to run and improve the service.
Where data is stored
Account, encrypted recovery data and community data are stored in Supabase, with HTTPS and access controls. Your device encrypts private recovery data with keys protected by your privacy password. ResetHive cannot decrypt it. Account details, recovery memberships, language, time zone, notification settings, shared Hive content and deliberately shared counters remain operational data. Country, gender identity and appearance preferences are encrypted. More detail is on the Security page.
Create a strong privacy password. ResetHive cannot see it, email it to you, or recover it for you. If you forget it and lose access to all trusted devices, your private data cannot be recovered. Supported browsers and apps remember access automatically, including after sign-out. Signing back into the same account by email unlocks private data on that device. Forget this device removes remembered access and signs you out. Clearing browser data can also remove it. Exports produce readable files on your device, so keep them private.
Service providers and data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data. We use service providers to run ResetHive, including Supabase for account, recovery, and community storage; Cloudflare for handling website requests and caching eligible assets; Resend for sign-in and service emails; and OpenAI for community moderation, language detection, translation, and automatic topic tagging.
OpenAI processing for moderation, language detection, and translation is limited to community posts, replies, image attachments and Capsules you choose to submit. Automatic topic tagging uses only the title and body of Hive posts, not replies. The resulting tags may be adjusted by moderators and are shown to Hive members. Private recovery data is not sent to OpenAI. OpenAI API requests are made from the server and configured with store: false where supported, though OpenAI may retain limited abuse-monitoring logs under its API data policies.
Contact and account support are available by email; the team can read messages you send through that channel.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account and personal data from your account page, including encrypted history, profile details and community post and reply text. You can also erase private history and start again. Neither operation requires your privacy password, but a recent sign-in is required. Deleted community threads may keep empty placeholders. Deletion removes active records; historical backups and limited provider security or operational logs can remain until their retention expires.
Minors and public articles
Public articles may be read without an account, including by teenagers. ResetHive accounts, private recovery tools, and the Hive are only for people who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect or store account, recovery, or community data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor created an account or submitted data, we will restrict the account and delete the associated data. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
